Regular dental visits are essential for clean, healthy smiles, and that goes for your child too! Our orthodontist and team need to see your child for routine care to maintain good oral health and to locate or address any potential problems. During your child’s checkup, we will:

• Gently clean their teeth to remove plaque and tartar to prevent cavities, infections and gum disease.
• Floss between each of their teeth to remove the food particles and plaque your child could not reach by brushing alone.
• Examine their smile to see if there are any health issues. This may include taking dental X-rays.

We will talk with you about any treatment recommendations we may have or about ways you can improve your child’s home care. You should always feel comfortable talking with our orthodontist and team about any questions or concerns you may have.

To keep your child’s smile healthy, you should bring them in for their visit with our orthodontist every six months, although, depending on your child’s oral health, we may need to see them more frequently. If your child experiences a dental emergency such as a trauma or oral pain, please contact our office as soon as possible. Otherwise, contact our team to schedule your child’s checkup.
